GREENVILLE — Two of Avelo Airlines’s new direct routes, including a first-time connection between the Upstate with upstate New York, will begin service today and tomorrow.
With the introduction of new services, Avelo will serve three nonstop destinations out of GSP. The airline first landed at GSP last summer, initially offering direct flights between the Upstate and Connecticut.
GSP’s inaugural flight to Rochester, N.Y., will begin today and flights to Manchester, N.H., will begin the next day, April 10.
The budget carrier announced in February new direct routes between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, New Hampshire’s Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and New York’s Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport.
In addition to these new routes, the airline said it will be doubling the amount of flights it serves between GSP and Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport to four flights per week.
“We are thrilled to see Avelo’s continued investment in GSP,” airport CEO Dave Edwards said in a press release. “Our passengers consistently ask for more convenient access from Greenville-Spartanburg to destinations like Manchester and Rochester.”
